Hello chess lovers!
This has been a fantastic year for the chess club! From Dawg Days to intercollegiate competition to
speed chess on the HUB lawn, this club has been growing in strength and numbers. Now, the year is
coming to a close and it's time to elect officers worthy of continuing this newborn dynasty in the '05-
'06 school year.
Elections will be held Wednesday May 25th, 2005 during our regular meeting in MEB 246 from 5:30 to
8:00ish. We welcome you in joining us for short introductory speeches made by the candidates, slightly
longer speeches by the co-presidents, and FREE pizza and chess in case you get bored! Voting is open
only to active members as defined by our constitution (found online at http://
students.washington.edu/chessuw/documents.html) but all are encouraged to show up, have pizza,
meet the people who have worked hard all year making this club a huge success and (of course) play
chess!
Here are the candidates that are running:
President Elect:
1. Brandon Farrell
2. Paul Reeves
Secretary:
1. Brandon Farrell
2. Paul Reeves
Treasurer:
Curt Collyer
Activities Director:
Michael Kohan
Programming Director:
1. Brandon Farrell
2. Gregory Alexander
All of the votes will be confidential, and Kenneth (our current secretary) will tally the votes by the end of
the meeting. If you cannot make it, and still want to vote via email, please make arrangements with
Kenneth. Since a few of the candidates are running for multiple positions, we are asking each of our
active members to vote only once for a particular candidate. For example, Brandon and Paul are running
for President-Elect, whomever candidate you vote for in the President-Elect role, vote for the other
candidate for the Secretary role.
Hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
Brian Mason and Gregory Alexander

<<Special thanks to Kenneth for handling the elections>>
