[Dhsvm-users] Preprocessing continued...

With respect to the GRASS question, not that I have ever heard of, we
gave up on GRASS in the UW lab about 10 years ago now, but maybe your
email will motivate some closet GRASS users. I'm still hoping for
everything to be converted to python so that it will run in ArcGIS.

I don't know of any rigorous model intercomparisons, although individual
pieces of the model have been compared. Generally, I believe people
choose DHSVM because it has some functionality that they can't get from
an alternative model. So for some applications an alternative model may
do better (and be easier to apply), but for some other questions,
another model just isn't appropriate.

So the createstreamnetwork2 worked for the tutorial dataset (thanks!)
but
has there been any thought to trying to get some code written for
something
like GRASS GIS to make DHSVM completely open-source?

On a somewhat unrelated note, has there been any comparison of this
algorithm vs. other open source hydro models? How does it stack up?
