[Dhsvm-users] Final Mass Balance output

Dear dhsvm users,
The problem I had with the "Invalid date specified in: ..\metfiles\leavenworth_1990_99"
was mismatch in the number of input variables listed in the met file and the number of input variables expected by the function ScanFloats() in Files.c.
I have another question though:
I run the model for the tutorial data and have got the following results that I couldn't figure out the reasons:
Some estimates for current vegetation specification
Vegetation Type: DRY_int1
2meter wind speed fraction of ref level 0.093
Overstory LAI July 5.000 Effective LAI July -107374176.000
Vegetation Type: DRY_int3
2meter wind speed fraction of ref level 0.086
Overstory LAI July 5.000 Effective LAI July -107374176.000
Vegetation Type: Forest_si2
2meter wind speed fraction of ref level 0.070
Overstory LAI July 5.000 Effective LAI July -107374176.000
Vegetation Type: Forest_si3
2meter wind speed fraction of ref level 0.071
Overstory LAI July 6.000 Effective LAI July -107374176.000
And, the final mass balance output was as follows:
Final Mass Balance
Inflow, 5548.83:
Precip (mm): 5548.834801
Outflow -1.#J:
ET (mm): -1.#INF00
SnowVaporFlux (mm): 34.232665
CulvertToChannel (mm): 0.000000
ChannelInt (mm): 3865.114927
Storage:
Initial Storage (mm): 286.250651
End of Run Storage (mm): 116.815880
Final SWQ (mm): 0.065313
Final Soil Moisture (mm): 76.182872
Final Surface (mm): 40.567695
Final Road Surface (mm): 0.000000
Other:
RoadInt (mm): 0.000000
CulvertReturnFlow (mm): 0.000000
Mass Error (mm): -1.#INF00
Mass added to glacier (mm) 0.000000
STARTING CLEANUP
I would highly appreciate if someone can give me some hints why it is giving me:
Effective LAI July -107374176.000 for the vegetations,
and
Outflow -1.#J:
ET (mm): -1.#INF00
Mass Error (mm): -1.#INF00, in the final mass balance outputs?
Thank you

Dear dhsvm users,
I am trying to run the dhsvm tutorial in windows and am getting the following error:
Invalid date specified in: ..\metfiles\leavenworth_1990_99
I tried every possibile checking in all the weather data, configuration file and the code that reads the met data and could not locate the error. It seems a simple one but could not solve it. The met data seems fine. The configuration file needs the start and end dates to be in the met data. Is there someone who has the same exprience with dhsvm?
I hope someone will respond and send me his/her version of configuration file to compare with mine.
Thank you in advance

I am trying to run DHSVM with the sediment module. I am not interested
in the mass wasting output, so I have mass wasting set to FALSE in the
sediment options section of the sediment configuration file. The model
appears to run OK when I have the channel routing set to FALSE, however,
when I set the channel routing option to TRUE the model locks up after I
get the following output in my terminal window:
STARTING SEDIMENT INITIALIZATION PROCEDURES
Sediment Surface Erosion component will be run
Sediment Road Erosion component will be run
Sediment Channel Routing component will be run
Initializing sediment tables
Initializing mass wasting resolution maps
fine mask = /home/eddie/DHSVM/input/mask10.bin
Basin has 6838500 active pixels in the mass wasting resolution map
Initializing channel sediment
There are several output files created in the output directory, but the
only two that have any values in them when the program stops running are
the "saturation_extent.txt" and "Stream.Flow" files, both of which have
data for the first three time steps.
Thanks,
Ed Salminen

I have encountered this error before and it turned out that I was missing data for one hour somewhere in the met input file.
