[Dhsvm-users] Groundwater Exchange Due to Pumping

Hi,

DHSVM 2.4 version includes a deep groundwater layer. The recharge to groundwater in a grid cell is determined by the infiltration rate or the vacant volumn of the aquifer. I think it's feasible to add the well pumping part into the model.

Besides, I am trying to couple MODFLOW with DHSVM. And I feel it's not easy to determine the reliable groundwater recharge to MODFLOW. And I wonder what will happen when the real water table of the aquifer raises beyond the bottom of soil layer, eg. the depth of water table is less than the soil column's depth.

I will be happy to discuss with you on the problems.

Michael

Subject: [Dhsvm-users] Groundwater Exchange Due to Pumping

Aloha DHSVM users

I was wondering if any body tried to address the issue of possible impact of
groundwater exchange due to pumping on surface water using DHSVM. I have
seen few proposals from UW to include this component in DHSVM but not sure
if they were able to modify the code. Any suggestion on this will be highly
appreciated.

Thanks
