Thanks a lot. Now I use the workstation in arcgis to fill my dem. I will try the new version of FILL_SINKS_DHSVM.c.

At one point I tried to fix it and I don't know what version was posted on-line, you can see if the attached version is any different from what you have.

These sinks were not recognized by Arc/Info, since they did have outlets when all 8 nearest neighbors were used. Certainly using the ArcGIS routines as a starting point is your best bet. I also think Chris's suggestion of using a courser resolution or using a low-pass filter to smooth a noisy DEM could be a reasonable work around.

I appear to have areas in my DHSVM models where flow is collecting on the surface, and surface storage is building over time. I assume that this is due to the DEM not being correctly filled

The administor had provided some details about the file of FILL_SINKS_DHSVM.c. It fill sinks in a manner similar to the ArcInfo algorithm, but using only the 4 nearest neighbors. So I tried to use this program to fill my DEM. Running the FILL_SINKS_DHSVM.c. after 4 hours, the screen was just displaying some words:Search radius can't identify if sink or peak. It has taken two days to fill the DEM using the FILL_SINKS_DHSVM.c, but still had no result. Can anyone help me?
