Here are 2 wonderful study abroad opportunities:

1) Now that Autumn Quarter is almost over, have your students thought about
what they're going to do next Spring? If studying abroad is on their

personal spending money, incidental expenses.)

giving resident UW credit and include:

2)
There are still some spaces available for the Comparative History of Ideas winter 2007 program in Cape Town, South Africa. The focus of this program is the historical and cultural legacy of apartheid in South Africa, its effects on identity formation, and contemporary efforts to re-appropriate this legacy toward an integrated, multi-ethnic society on the model of Nelson Mandela's "rainbow nation".

Academic work will be divided between a text and lecture-based class on the culture and history of Cape Town and South Africa, and an Engaged Community Learning project that will require students to work closely with residents of Cape Town.

This is a full time, UW academic program. Eligible students may apply federal financial aid. (Check with your scholarship administrator to see if other scholarships might apply.)

More information is available at http://depts.washington.edu/chid/showprogram.php?id=32.
The application deadline is October 5, and selection is competetive, so apply now if you're interested!
