The Borgen Project is selecting a fall intern who will be involved in
all aspects of writing and editing for the organization.
Borgen Project Mission: The Borgen Project is strategically working to
make poverty at home and abroad the number one priority of U.S.
political leaders.
Overview of the Borgen Project:
In 2000, the largest gathering of world leaders ever assembled met in
New Yorkand agreed to cut severe poverty and hunger in half by 2015 and
end it completely by 2025 (U.N. Millennium Development Goals). The
greatest opportunity in the history of humankind is underway, utterly
doable and being all but ignored by the worlds agenda-setter. The Borgen
Project is putting pressure on U.S. leaders to achieve the plan they
already agreed to, which will bring 1.2billion people out of severe

Writer/Editor Intern Responsibilities:
-Write copy for the Borgen Project website
-Manage the Borgen Project newsletter
-Compose sample letters to be used in letter-writing campaigns
-Write letters and public service announcements for online and print media
-Attend program and staff meetings and trainings as needed.
Requirements:
-Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
-Strong organizational skills.
-Journalism background a plus
-Available for flexible hours.
This position is unpaid with college credit available. This is a three
month long commitment. Internship positions are 10 hours per week but
may require some flexibility. Working offsite is negotiable after
introductory period.
