There are a limited number of spaces still open in the Department of 
English Spring Quarter in London 2006.  Check in the English Advising 
office (A-2B Padelford) for brochures and applications, or stop by the 
English Department table at the Study Abroad Fair this Wednesday, Oct. 26, 
10:00 - 2:00 in Mary Gates Commons.

PROGRAM DATES: March 23 through June 2, 2006.

PROGRAM FEES: $5900.00

Fees include: instructional costs, room and board, London Transport pass, 
excursions, textbooks.  (Fees do NOT include airfare, weekday lunches, 
personal spending money and expenses, $200 UW concurrent enrollment fee 
charged by International Programs and Exchanges.)

COURSES (taught by British and UW faculty): four 5-credit classes offered;
students must take at least three of the four, though all four may be
taken if desired.  Courses are all UW courses giving resident UW credit
and include:

ENGL 444 or DRAMA 494: Theatre of the 20th and 21st Century

ENGL 431: Topics in British Literature: Shakespeare On the Page/On the Stage

ART H 399: Art, Architecture and Society in London

HST 499 or POL S 447: Contemporary Britain


ELIGIBILITY: Any UW student who has successfully completed at least one
200-level literature course at the UW.

ADMISSION: First-come/first-served.
