Weyerhaeuser IT Intern Program
IT Documentation & Training -Technical Writer
The IT Documentation and Training group consists of two teams that
work collaboratively to provide Weyerhaeuser users with a variety of
learning and reference tools. These include online help, online
tutorials, web content, online manuals, reference tools, training
material, and instructional design. The Documentation and Training
group also supports systems that track employee training and paper
quality.
The technical writer intern will have the opportunity to create
products for a wide variety of audiences and, in the process, to
learn how a large wood-products company works. The intern will
become familiar with the IT environment of a Fortune 500 company,
including large applications, internal websites, and portal
communities. The intern will also gain an understanding of the areas
of the company with which tech writing personnel typically work.
Location:
Federal Way, WA
Co-op term:
June to December
Key Functions or Duties:
. Creating writing products for a variety of audiences
. Editing products created by peers or internal customers
. Creating and editing graphics

Required Technical Skills:
. Excellent English language skills
. Solid experience with Microsoft Office products
. Experience with a graphics editing program, such as
PhotoShop or Paintshop Pro
Desired Skills & Knowledge:
. Web editing tool, such as FrontPage
. HTML
. CSS
. RoboHelp
Opportunities to develop in this position:
