Hello Melissa,

I am again student facilitating the CHID Queer Performance Poetry class 
this coming fall and was hoping you could post a small blurb to the list 
serve to get the word out.  Here is the info:

CHID 496C: Queer Performance Poetry
2 Credits (C/No C)
Peer Facilitator: Sara Giba, sgiba at u.washington.edu
Supervisor: Cynthia Anderson, chid at u.washington.edu

The goal of this focus group is to introduce students to the genre of verse
called Performance Poetry. Specifically, this focus group will deal with
queer subculture and its relation to, and creation of, queer oriented
performance poetry. The power and directness of this genre extends out of
the queer community and into the queer allied community as well. Through
examples, mimicry, creation and performance, students will learn the
importance of the genre and how to create and perform their own performance
pieces. The quarter will end with a performance on campus including the
students’ best accomplishments in the performance poetry arena.
