The English Department is still accepting applications to the Spring
2008 Rome Program!

Note:  This program is NOT limited to English majors.  ALL UW students
are eligible to participate in this program.

Dates:  March 31 - June 13, 2008

COURSES(a total of 15 credits):

ENGL 443 (5 cr) Special Studies in Poetry -- Virgil and Dante
taught by:  Professor Henry Staten

ENGL 363 (5 cr)
Literature and the Other Arts and Disciplines -- Renaissance Art &
Culture in Rome, Florence, and Venice.
taught by:  Professor Ricardo de Mambro Santos

ENGL 499 (2 cr)Independent Study
taught by:  Professor Henry Staten
(Each student will design an individual project that focuses on Rome and
the experience of being in Rome – a journal, photo essay or personal
essay, for example.)

ITAL 127 (3 cr)Beginning Conversational Italian
taught by:  Professor Ricardo de Mambro Santos
(This course will provide students with basic conversational skills in
Italian, adapted to the level of the individual student. Prior knowledge
of Italian is not a requirement for the program.)

COST:  $6979 for ALL undergraduate students; *Non-Residents and
Residents pay the same amount.*

Cost includes instructional costs, housing in Rome, transportation and
overnight accommodation for field trips. Program fees do not include
meals, books, airfare, International Student I.D. Card, or personal
spending money...

Priority Application Deadline:  Nov 2nd
