Do you still need to satisfy the foreign language requirement? Ever
considered studying Classical Greek? Most of contemporary western
literature traces its lineage back in some fashion to Greek poetry and
drama, and the English language itself wouldn't have evolved as it did
without its Classical Greek roots. This Summer you still have a
remarkable opportunity to study the language of Homer and Sophocles
because enrollment is unsually modest in intensive Greek 101a and 102b.
If you would like to register, please contact Doug Machle in Classics
(dmachle at u.washington.edu).
