Rainier Scholars is a GREAT program. I encourage all students, but
particularly students of color, to apply to be a tutor. Think about it:
You could be personally responsible for helping a talented middle
school student, somebody who maybe never even thought he or she could go
to college, earn a B.A! It's so important for these kids to meet
successful UW students, and for you to model the intellectual habits
that have created your academic success. If you're interested, please

Rainier Scholars works with highly talented ethnic minority students
throughout an 11-year enrichment program that is composed of an academic
component, an educational placement component, and counseling and
support services. We have 234 students in our program, ranging from
6-10^th grade. As a form of support we provide a Tutoring Center to
help catch students before they fall behind in their classes. We are
here to enable committed and capable students to access the premier
educational opportunities available and to help them exceed their
potential.



*Job Description:* Our tutors will work one-on-one with a student.
Tutors should have experience working with middle and high school
students. Teaching and or tutoring experience helpful. Content
knowledge in mathematics, science, or foreign language is highly
valued. Tutors will focus on organization, accountability, and
academic skill building with students.
