History Internship Description
We are seeking an organized, self-motivated and energetic individual with a
love of history to help research 100 years of photos, documents, news
articles and collateral material for the history of the League and the
video. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about Seattle history
resources and help gather and organize interviews, photos and other
materials. The intern will need to be able to work independently but will
also work with League staff, Board members, volunteers and our contracted
videographer.
* This is a 3-month position at approx. 8-10 hours per week with possible
extensions if desired.
* Much of the work can be done remotely although some time may be required
in the Municipal League office, at libraries and at the video shoots.
* Start date for this internship is January 11, 2010 (exact start date
negotiable).
* The League will work with the intern to assure he or she meets necessary
internship requirements for credit. We will work with the intern to
design the scope of the experience to meet the school's requirements.
This internship can be expanded to meet year-long graduate school
internship requirements as well.
* The ideal candidate must be interested in learning more about local
history, local civic engagement and public policy issues.
Applicants for this internship should send a brief letter of interest and
resume to interns at munileague.org by 5 p.m. January 4, 2010. Potential
candidates will be contacted for an interview. Students may also visit
