2009-10 Koch Associate Program: Deadline Quickly Approaching!
The Koch Associate Program is a very selective, one year, competitively
paid career opportunity for bright, talented young professionals (0-10
years of work experience) who are interested in pursuing a career in the
non-profit sector. Many people often don't realize the great job
opportunities thatmarket-oriented non-profit organizations provide for
those interested in identifying wasteful government spending and using
media tools to convey this to a broader audience. The Associate Program
is a great way to jumpstartthat career; we help Associates develop the
knowledge, skills, and experience necessary for a successful future with
free-market think tanks, policy institutes, or other non-profit
organizations.
While in the program, Associates are placed into a full-time role with a
reputable organization where they work four days each week. A full list
of the organizations where Associates work along with some examples of
project placements can be found on our website
<http://www.cgkfoundation.org/associate-program/partner-organizations/?utm_source=Misc&utm_medium=ProfEmail&utm_campaign=MiscPartOrgProfEmailMar-09>
. The positions available to Associates cover various fields such as
policy research and analysis, donor relations, non-profit operations,
communications, program management, legalreform, public relations, and
new media.
The program is also designed to equip the Associates with the management
tools necessary to be both effective and efficient in their present and
future positions. One day each week the Associates come together in a
seminar setting at the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation to engage
in reading discussions and group projects, network with their peers,
listen to guest speakers, and learn how to apply Market-Based
Management®
<http://www.cgkfoundation.org/associate-program/mbm/?utm_source=Misc&utm_medium=ProfEmail&utm_campaign=MiscMBMProfEmailMar-09>
in a non-profit setting through interactive exercises and workshops.
Associates range in experience from recent graduates to those with up to
ten years of work experience, and they come from diverse fields and
academic majors. The range of associates is broad, but they all have in
common their interest in free-market ideas and a desire to strive for
social change through their work. You can learn more about the Koch
Associate Program and the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation by
