Volunteer teachers and tutors needed to help Chinese immigrants gain
U.S. citizenship

The ESL/Literacy Program at the Chinese Information and Service Center
seeks friendly, patient, and dependable volunteer teachers and tutors to
help Chinese immigrants gain US citizenship. This is a great way to gain
teaching experience with new immigrant ESL students as well as gain
greater exposure to the Chinese language and culture.

We have a variety of positions and times available:
-Perform one-on-one mock citizenship interviews.
-Lead a small group seminar as a small group tutor.
-Teach an ESL, Citizenship or Talk Time class.

Bilingual in Mandarin or Cantonese a plus but not a requirement.

No teaching experience necessary. We will train you!

Give the Chinese community just a little of your time: 1-3 hours once a
week and a 3 month commitment.
