Check out the interesting course in Polish literature and film being
offered this Spring. No, it won't count toward the English major, but
it would be an elective or VLPA course that could broaden your
experiences within the field of literary study.

POLSH 420 REFLECTIONS OF MODERN POLAND IN LITERATURE AND FILM
SLN 17134 Instructor: Chojnowski
MW 9:30-11:20 5 credits (VLPA)
This course will examine selected feature films and literary texts as well
as cinematic adaptations of Polish literature which reflect both the
Polish postwar reality and universal values. Among the works studied will
be film director Krzysztof Kieslowski's "The Decalogue" and those by
science fiction writer Stanislaw Lem. Also addressed in the course will be
the Polish experience of such American artists as Roman Polanski and Eva
Hoffman.
