[Englmajors] AU Issue IV Theme!

We are pleased to announce that the theme for AU issue IV will be:

*INVASION!*

Intrigued? I sure am! "Invasion" has been a staple of the sci-fi/fantasy 
community since its inception. Just think of classics like /War of the 
Worlds/, /The Day the Earth Stood Still/, or /Predator/. These stories 
help define who we are as human beings by placing our entire planet into 
the crisis situation of all crisis situations, and asking how we would 
respond.

BUT, there's a lot more to "Invasion" than /Mars Attacks/. Have you 
realized that parts of /Lord of the Rings/ fall under the theme of 
Invasion? Or what about /1984/? There are no pillaging armies, but 
there's an undeniable invasion of privacy. Consider these alternatives:

    * Invasion of the mind: brainwashing and propaganda!
    * Invasion of the body: nanobots and disease!
    * Alternate timelines: what if key battles/invasions in history had
      ended differently?

The possibilities are endless! Speculative fiction exists because we as 
human beings believe in thinking outside the box. Leave your stamp on 
the history of genre fiction: submit a short story or poem today! We at 
AU hope the theme will inspire you as much as it inspires us. Show UW 
what your beautiful brain is capable of!

The deadline for submissions is *October 21st, 11:59pm.* The word limit 
is *3,000* words.
