Dear Sarah,
I had a similar concern and I believe Jay said ok to lock and replace your
original record.

Dear Jay,
We are recataloging a rare book which was dated incorrectly before
(the record was created by us--#30786090); however, three other
institutions have already attached their holdings to that record. What
is the OCLC policy regarding this situation? Should I revise the record
directly? Or should I create a new record and delete our holdings from
the original record (although the 040 will still have our symbol)?
Thanks a lot.
