Frank,

I would send the change to OCLC using this
link<https://www3.oclc.org/app/authrec/>.
If you are not a Naco Library you can’t modify the NAF so you need to send
it to OCLC who deals with LC.

Hope this helps.

Hello Community,

1. What is nice about the expert community experiment -- it is nice to be
able to correct a typographical error with so little effort. I pulled up
OCLC #192050171 for _Teaching and learning with Microsoft Office 2007 and
Expression Web_, observed the second author's surname written "Lewandowsk"
in the 700 field, looked at the title page in my copy, saw that it and the
front cover said Lewandowski, added the -i at the end of her surname in the
700 field, clicked "Replace" and the system accepted my change.

2. I appreciate the logic behind OCLC's pre-experiment stance that a change
of this sort required sending a copy of the title page to OCLC, to document
that the correction actually is a correction. But, I also appreciate the
fact that this experiment makes it much easier and faster to fix a
typographical error such as this.

3. Not till after doing that did I think of checking the National Authority
File for this author. I found ARN 7659570 = n 2008010914 for "Lewandowsk,
Judith Oates" without the -i. Yet in the 670 field it transcribes her name
accurately (from the vantage of my copy of the book ) as "(Judith Oates
Lewandowski)." So there is still the authority record which, if my copy is
typical, needs to be corrected. I can't do that.

4. Do I need to go back to plan A and send a copy of the title page to OCLC?
