Thanks Peter for being a great point person for the undergrads and this department.

We will have our organizational meeting for ESS 101 on Wed. at 2:30 pm in Jhn 162. Our usual
meetings will be on Friday, but I changed it because of the GALA this week.

Thank you,

Terry

the Gala committee.

Doug or the elusive Lucy to get signed up. Remember that all skill levels are welcome (it's way more
fun to watch Doug try to carry us all) and that you don't have to be at all the games so GET OUT
THERE!!!

an undergrad presence and that needs to change. We can totally beat the grads (my sources say they
spend all their time at the downtown REI).

quarter events which include field trips to the Peshastin Pinnacles for practice on mapping, Brunton
use, and structural geology and Mineral Gulch for pyrite, galena, rose quartz and what ever else Dylan
can pan out of the creek. Both trips will be good refreshers for those headed to field camp, dates will
be set when 101 sets their field trip schedule. With the end of the quarter comes the Spring BBQ which
has the added complexity of finding a new location as the grassy field and racetrack have been demo-
ed, the graduation slideshow, and of course elections for next years officers. At the meetings we'll go
over the planning for these events and try to get those spry young folk who will be returning next year
working with one of us old people being put out to pasture to make the transition to the next year
easier.
