Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Intern

Part time (20 hours per week during the regular school year)
Pay: $12.50/hour
Preferred start date: September 27, 1999

The Gates Center for Technology Access  (formerly TRI), a Seattle-based
non-profit foundation part of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations, has an
immediate opening for a part time GIS intern. This work will help support a
nationwide effort to bring public access computing to low-income communities
throughout North America.

Duties:

Design and produce maps as needed
Provide demographic analysis support for grant programs
Work in a team environment
Research and locate GIS data from multiple sources (Web and print based)
Digitize print maps to ArcView shapefiles

Qualifications:

Fluency in ArcView 3.1
Familiarity with Avenue scripting
