Due to an amazing increase in the response rate to our ASKUW email
program, we have three positions as follows available in Admissions.

Position: Email Postmaster, Office of Admissions
 
Job Description: Respond to and/or route e-mail for the UW Office of
Admissions office e-mail address, which receives anywhere from 130-400
messages per day.  You will work with, four other Postmasters, Admissions
staff and occasionally have contact with other departments/offices.
Requires *very* good written communication skills and the ability to
accurately explain policy-related issues to prospective UW applicants.
May also share or occasionally swap some responsibilities with other
students in the Office of Admissions. The position can begin immediately
and we are most interested in hiring a student who can continue through
the entire 1999-00 academic year.
 
Qualifications:
* UW student with at least two quarters enrollment completed (summer
  enrollment not required)
* Knowledge of PINE e-mail system and basic understanding of UW Web Pages
* Comfortable working independently after receiving general direction from
  supervisor
* Knowledge of MS-Access preferred but not required
 
Pay & Hours:
* $7.00/hour
* Approximately 13-19 hours a week (dependent on volume)
* Lots of flexibility (as long as you get the work done!) - can work
  anywhere and anytime the Pine system is available
