INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Foundation for Russian-American Economic Cooperation
CLEAR-PAC Project
Fall 2000
CLEAR-PAC (Customs Link Entry/Exit America Russia - Pacific), a U.S.
Department of Commerce funded program administered by the Foundation for
Russian-American Economic Cooperation (FRAEC), is a pilot project working
with Russian Customs to develop means for expediting the customs clearance
process in Russia.
The selected intern will undertake a variety of responsibilities while
working with the CLEAR-PAC team, including research, writing, and
administrative duties. The intern should be willing to commit to a minimum
of 10 hours per week through November 2000. This internship position is
unpaid.
INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Research and compile information on areas relating to the
project's development
* Assist writing reports and newsletter articles
* Monitor news sources
* Assist with event coordination
* Maintain database (MS Access)
* Provide various, as-needed administrative support to the
CLEAR-PAC team
CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION
* Demonstrated interest in Russia, including the Russian Far
East, and the Russian business climate
* Knowledge of transportation and customs related issues a
plus
* Strong writing and communication skills
* Knowledge of Russian (reading comprehension) preferred
