Korean Language Courses and Testing

Students with no background in the language may take the Novice Beginners' class, starting in the Autumn quarter only. 

Students with previous exposure to or study of Korean at any level or formality (e.g. home Korean, Saturday school Korean, or Korean language courses at a summer school or high-school, etc.) MUST take the Korean Placement Test at the Educational Assessment Center.  For the schedule, format, or content of the test, contact the testing center (543-1170, Schmitz room 453).

Add codes for Advanced Beginners' class are given out to students with background ("heritage students")
    a. if they have taken the placement test and have a testing certificate
    b. if a space is available for the particular class the student is placed to 
        (given in the order the results are received from the testing center)
    b. if a space is available for the particular quarter the student wishes to register 
        (given in the order the results are received from the testing center)
