Job Description

Title:  Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Assistant

Schedule:  Part-Time, flexible - approximately 2 days per week April 2002
through December 2002.

Summary:

The GIS Assistant will work with researchers in the Libraries and Public
Access to Information Division, providing basic GIS, cartographic and
database support.


Responsibilities:

	Database updating
	Address geocoding
	Spatial data documentation
	Basic mapmaking


Qualifications:

	Basic understanding of Geographic Information Systems, geography
and cartography
	Experience with Arcview3.2 GIS software (required)
	Experience with Microsoft Access (desired)
