[geogu-l] advice for transfer students

To all Geog majors who transferred from a community college:

Next Friday I am speaking to a group of community college advisers about
majoring in Geography, with a GIS emphasis (it's a session on
"computer-related majors at the UW"). In this context, I have two requests:

1) if any of you might be willing to come with me and say a few words about
your experience in the department, esp. w/GIS courses and projects. The
panel is Friday, Nov. 7, 2:30-3:20, in MGH.

2) any advice you'd like me to convey about how cc students can best prepare
for the transition to the UW.
