"Alternative Modernites" - a summer '06 study abroad program

Information sessions in Padelford C-101

Tuesday, Jan. 31 10:30 - 11:20

Thursday, Feb 2 3:30 - 4:20

This 15-credit UW program, sponsored the H.M. Jackson School of International Studies and the Program in the Comparative History of Ideas, is open to students from all areas of study. The program aims to encourage students of economies, development, and globalization to (a) move beyond economistic or rational choice theoretical frameworks, (b) consider modernities and capitalisms in the plural, and (c) think more creatively about what is socially, politically and culturally possible within the parameters of market economies.

There is no language prerequesite for the program, and students on Federal Financial Aid may apply their aid towards the program costs.

For more information, please attend one of the sessions. You can also refer to the webpage: http://depts.washington.edu/chid/showprogram.php?id=30 , or send an email to chidint at u.washington.edu for further questions.
