Subject: Potential Summer job opportunity in GIS with King County

Greetings,

I am a UW GIS Geography Alumni and I currently work for King County
Dept. of Transportation. My department is looking for the potential of
hiring a GIS student for the summer. The position would be working out
of Renton for King County's Roads Maintenance Section, Technology Unit.
The student would be supporting the King County Roads Maintenance
Section Technology Unit. The technology unit work programs include
mapping road inventory features, acquiring and developing datasets to be
used in a GIS environment and supporting the Roads Maintenance field
crews with technology solutions.

The summer hire would be assisting in the development of a new spatially
orientated feature inventory system. While working with Roads
Maintenance, they will have access to ArcGIS 9.1, the County's datasets
including the transportation network system, perform linear referencing
and routing, assist in developing new systems to be used in a GIS
environment, & working with open source databases, and mapping.

If you have any students that would meet our needs and are interested
could you please have them e-mail their resume and qualifications to my
supervisor. If you have any additional questions or comments please
contact Joann Kosai-Eng.

Thank you,
Karen Guillermo

Interested undergraduates, please send resume and qualifications to:
