Salary: Intern II – $12.89-$14.92, Intern III – $14.48-$16.77 depending on 
experience

Position Overview
The City of Woodinville Public Works Department would like to 
announce the opening of an internship position for the 2007-2008 school year. 
The City is seeking a mature, independent working and highly motivated 
individual currently enrolled in undergraduate studies as an upper classman 
(junior/senior), or possess a Bachelor's Degree with an equivalent combination 
of current coursework and experience. 

The job tasks include but are not limited to the following:

 • Assisting Public Works Staff on various projects • 
Collecting traffic and surface water data using various equipment, i.e. GPS, 
tube counters, water quality monitor • Performing various field work, 
calculations and estimating • Working with Autodesk software (i.e. AutoCAD, 
Map3D) and other engineering related programs • Working with ESRI ArcGIS 
software • Minor writing

 Candidates must: 􀂃 Be at least 18 years of 
age 􀂃 Be currently enrolled in school 􀂃 Possess a valid 
Washington State Driver’s License and insurance 􀂃 Submit a Motor 
Vehicle Driving Record from Washington State Department of Licensing 􀂃 
Have effective communication (written and oral) skills 􀂃 Have computer 
skills 􀂃 Listen and follow directions.

The Intern position is a 12-month temporary position. Work hours may vary based on schedule and workload. Position may be required to work late afternoons, evenings, and holidays. This position is not eligible for paid leave, paid holidays, health or life insurance coverage or any other parts of the employee benefit package except to the extent that may be required by State or Federal law. Benefit programs pertaining to this position will be explained after an offer for employment has been accepted. 

Department Overview
The mission of the Public Works Department is to provide safe and reliable motorized and non-motorized facilities, protect and enhance the quality of our waterways and habitats, and maintain the public's infrastructure. Infrastructure includes roadways, sidewalks, street lighting, traffic signals and signs, storm water systems, and public construction improvement projects. The Department consists of three divisions: transportation, surface water, and operations and maintenance.

approximately 5.5 square miles and has a population of approximately 10,000.
