POSITION:  Planning  Internship 
DEPARTMENT: Planning & Development Services 
SALARY:  $12/hr undergraduate student   $15/hr graduate student 
CLOSES:  Open Until Filled with first review September 8, 2008 
 
The City of Shoreline is seeking a qualified undergraduate or graduate student 
to work as an intern in the Planning and Development Services Department under 
the supervision of a senior planner.

A background in urban planning, construction management, geography or related field is desired. GIS, AutoCAD or SketchUp experience is a plus.  Excellent written and computer skills desired. 

The length of the internship and work schedule is negotiable, but may not 
exceed 1040 hours in a calendar year. 

This position will work on a variety of projects for planning and development staff. Tasks may include but are not limited to:
• Performing a variety of long range or current planning task
• Conducting data collection or data entry 
• Assisting with the implementation of Council goals 
• Preparing records for archiving 
• GIS mapping, as needed
