TRACKS Internship: Volunteer Coordinator - NeighborWoods and Stewardship

Job site: City Hall/ Additional sites throughout the city
Length of commitment: Minimum 2-3 month commitment
Work environment: Outdoors/Indoors

Overview:
NeighborWoods is a new program to facilitate tree planting throughout
Bellevue. Working hand in hand with the city, volunteers will suggest
locations where new trees are needed, and assist with planting and
maintaining them. A qualified coordinator is needed to promote the
NeighborWoods program, recruit interested parties, work with Bellevue
Natural Resources to plan tree installments, facilitate plantings and
maintenance, and report progress. This community-driven program depends on
the active participation and commitment of the participants to take
ownership of their "NeighborWoods."
Primary Responsibilities:
Under the direction of Parks and Natural Resources staff, educate citizens
about the NeighborWoods Program at Neighborhood Enhancement Project meetings
and through other community venues; coordinate volunteer efforts and manage
planting projects; and identify other regional stewardship projects and
reach out to community volunteers to garner involvement.
Other Opportunities Include:
Seeking private funding and in-kind donations.
Developing NeighborWoods to include tree plantings on a greater range of
properties.
Coordinating volunteers and programs in other reaches of the City's TRACKS

Desired Qualifications:
Applicants should have a strong desire to work in a related field.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to communicate and work well with others.
Strong work ethic and ability to deal with the physical challenges of the
TRACKS Program.

program development skills? If so, this internship opportunity is for you.
We are currently seeking a student intern with strong outdoor skills to help
to fulfill our mission to help residents of all ages experience the joys of
nature. Under the direction of TRACKS staff, you will teach essential
outdoor skills and help organize a wide variety of summer events and

Primary Responsibilities:
Under the direction of staff, organize programs and aid in the facilitation
of a wide variety of events. Instruct participants in outdoors skills
including camping techniques, wilderness safety, and conservation.

Must have current Washington State drives license.
