Free HuskyJobs for Grads & Other Job Resources this Summer...
With the quarter coming to an end, we're sure your appointment books
have been booking up... I know ours has. We have a lot of students,
from all majors, coming in and asking us about various resources we
may have to help them a) find a summer job or b) for new grads, find a
job after graduation.
I'm sure you're getting many of these questions too and wanted to give
you some quick information that you can pass along to your students.
Feel free to copy/paste at will.
Especially for new and recent graduates:
* HuskyJobs. As you are probably already aware, HuskyJobs, the
online job search system for Huskies new and old, is free for
students, any time. However, to show our commitment to all
Huskies, we're offering free access to HuskyJobs for all
new/recent grads too this summer. Suggest your students sign up
on our website at http://engage.washington.edu/site/R?i=0alGcpDSB7htUMtkL6nGpw.. .
* Career Launch Workshop. New this year, we're offering a full day
(10:00-3:00) workshop for new graduates that covers a variety of
topics, including resume and cover letter writing, how to
conduct a job search and how to successfully interview. Lunch is
included, but registration and a $30 fee to cover expenses is
required. Send your interested students to
http://engage.washington.edu/site/R?i=EE_z5UvwiJ3KaiB_GEHlvQ.. .
* Dependable Strengths Seminar. This popular 2-day seminar helps
individuals identify their unique strengths and talents and how
to leverage them to find a satisfying career. Registration and a
fee (reduced for UWAA members and UW students) is required. Send
your students to http://engage.washington.edu/site/R?i=vaiFGUAg8Q_5YVIdq1ht0A.. for
more information.
Especially for ongoing or current students:
* Workshops. We still have one more workshop for June (June 9th -
Job Search for International Students). We will be adding
additional workshops in in the fall. Check it out by clicking
here. (http://engage.washington.edu/site/R?i=GHJGFPPNic26KbKa46AnEg.. )
* Appointments. We always have 1:1 appointments available for
current students and, although they will be reduced this summer,
they will still be available. Have a student who's confused
about their direction? Suggest they sign up for a one-on-one
with one of our counselors.
On behalf of all of us at the UW Career Center, thank you for your
ongoing support and efforts. If you have any questions, please don't
hesitate to contact us any time via phone or email - and stay tuned
for more helpful tools for you and your department to use as we get
into summer!
