The Seattle District, Corps of Engineers, Mud Mountain Dam is currently
recruiting for the following position(s):
LABORER, WG-3502-1 (2 positions)
$15.11 per hour
Applications will be accepted from 1 through 19 February 2010
DUTY LOCATION
Mud Mountain Dam, 30525 SE Mud Mountain Road, Enumclaw, WA
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT
These positions are part-time temporary student jobs not to exceed 30
September 2010. (May works full-time on school breaks, including summer.)
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment is dependent upon passing a physical examination and school
status.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Performs a variety of labor-type duties in support of the operation and
maintenance of recreation and dam facilities and areas including some or all
of, but not limited to the following: collects litter and performs other
grounds maintenance duties in dam areas including picnic areas, playgrounds,
lawn areas, trails, roadways and parking areas. Runs powered lawn mowers.
Operates common hand tools and simple power equipment. Cleans and sanitizes
park buildings and facilities including restrooms, picnic shelters, storage
buildings and park offices independently.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Work requires light to moderate physical effort such as lifting and
frequently carrying light to medium weight (10 to 30 pounds) objects;
dragging hoses; pushing carts; occasionally lifting and carrying moderately
heavy (up to 45 pounds) objects; and walking, bending, moving and reaching.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works outside in all kinds of weather, and inside in areas that may be
dusty, drafty and noisy. Employee may be required to stand for long periods
on concrete floors. There is a chance of minor injuries; e.g., bruises, cuts
and scrapes.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
No specific length of experience is required. However, you must show that
you sufficiently possess the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) listed
in the Supplemental Questions below. FAILURE TO COMPLETE THE SUPPLEMENTAL
QUESTIONS WILL DISQUALIFY THE APPLICANT FROM CONSIDERATION FOR THE POSITION.
YOU ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A SEPARATE SHEET OF PAPER LISTING EACH OF THESE
ELEMENTS AND DESCRIBE IN YOUR OWN WORDS HOW YOU ACQUIRED THE KSAs.

letter from the Veterans Administration, dated within the last twelve (12)
months, certifying the veteran's present receipt of compensation for

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Students must be sixteen years of age and enrolled or accepted for
enrollment in an accredited high school, technical or vocational school, two
year or four year college or university, graduate or professional school.
Students must be taking at least a half-time course load as defined by the
school. If selected, you will need to provide proof of your student status.
Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective
Service System unless you meet certain exemptions under Selective Service
Law.
Any United States citizen may apply. In the absence of qualified U. S.
citizens, non-citizens may be eligible for employment if: (1) permitted by a
Federal agency's appropriation act, and (2) eligible to work under U. S.
immigration laws.
Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license.
