The iTunes U geography section offers a fascinating range of podcasts
(lectures, panel discussions, actual courses, lecture by lecture) for
geographers, including podcasts by such luminaries as Michael Goodchild,
Doreen Massey, Michael Dear, Richard Walker and many more. The UC Berkeley
Geography department actually has posted about five full courses, and there
are also podcast Geography "courses" from Stanford, Penn State and Indiana,
among others.
To get to these
1. download iTunes (you don't need a Mac or Apple device to do so)
2. go to the iTunes Store
3. at the very bottom of the iTunes store homepage, click on iTunes U
4. type in "geography" in the search box. Searches on other keywords
(globalization, social justice, GIS, etc.) yield many more (and different)
results, and you can also search by institution. (The UW, for example,
offers about 35 lectures on public health, which should be of great interest
to those of you interested in medical geography).
And this is all free!
