Week in Global Health
Dear All, This Week in Global Health is highlighting a few events:
Wednesday: IHME Seminar: "The (Apparent) Paradox of Mortality Rates That
Decline During Periods of Warfare"
Friday: TedX Seattle: <http://www.tedxseattle.com/> "Digital Dividends:
>From Puget Sound to Cape Town"
Sunday-Monday: <http://www.systemsbiology.org/symposium/> 9th Annual
Systems Biology Symposium: "Systems Biology and Global Health"
Next week is huge!! We have Ambassador Mark Dybul, Torture expert Alfred
McCoy, and the Western Regional International Health Conference: War &
Global Health: Transforming Our Profession, Changing Our World."
We have lots of news: PTSD expert Dr. Evan Kanter is profiled. We have great
follow-up news on the "Sons of Lwala" documentary. How much money do you
think they raised? Students for Equal Health had a very successful media
and health conference. IHME had two studies come out in The Lancet. Global
health faculty Christopher Murray and Sheila Lukehart are in the news. And
guess which school cut ties with Nike?
Also, a new fellowship is offered in Kenya.
Have a great week!
