Screening & Panel Discussion of
Award Winning Documentary, LUMO
Global Health Resource Center, University of Washington.
In Honor of Congo Week (October 17-23)
What? LUMO: One Woman's Struggle to Heal in a Nation Beset by War.
Eastern D.R. Congo has been called the most dangerous place in the
world to be a woman or a girl. "LUMO" is a painfully intimate look into a
young woman's tragedy and healing process, and, by extension, into the
scourge of rape that marks the war torn politics of eastern D.R. Congo.
After the screening, our panelists and moderator will discuss issues raised
by "LUMO" and ways in which those issues are being addressed. We will
also discuss how attendees can get involved with organizations working in
D.R. Congo or on behalf of Congolese refugees here in Seattle.
When? 4:00 - 6:00 PM, Tuesday, October 19th, 2010
Where? William H. Gates Hall 133, University of Washington School of Law
Who? Panelists:
