[History Undergraduate Advising]

Hi to all,

 

Welcome back, and Happy New Year. I have a few announcement to start the
quarter:

 

-          History Lecture Series with Professor Behlmer

-          History Honors Program Applications due January 13th 

-          Winter 2012 graduation applications due January 20th

Starting January 17th, the annual History Lecture Series will be given by
Professor George Behlmer. Student tickets are very affordable, and I have
just heard from the UW Alumni Association that the series is getting close
to sold out. For more information and to purchase series tickets, please

For students interested in pursuing departmental honors in history, you will
need to apply between now and the second week of winter quarter. All
applications must be completed by Friday, January 13, 2012 at 5:00pm. For
more information on the honors track, see the attached sheet. To gain access
to the Catalyst drop-box for the application, you must email me. 

 

To apply to departmental Honors in History, students should meet these
prerequisites:

 

1. A minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.3

2. A minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5 in history

3. 10 credits of upper-division history coursework (300/400 level) completed
at the University of Washington

 

Your DARS audit should tell you if you are eligible to apply to the honors
track. For some of you, you will become eligible after grades post for this
quarter, so be sure to re-check if you don't get the "honors" notation on
your DARS audit right now. If you have questions about honors after reading
the attached sheet, please let me know.

For students finishing their degrees at the end of this quarter,
applications to graduate must be submitted by Friday, January 20, 2012. Let
me know if you need to submit the paperwork, and we will set up an
appointment. If you are unsure if you have submitted the forms, send me an
email and I will verify your degree application.
