Experience moonlight, movies and family fun under the stars on a 45-foot screen at Seattle Center's Mural Amphitheatre this August!
The FREE Seattle Center Outdoor Cinema series will present a great mix of films suitable for all ages, including the epic Lord of the Rings trilogy, Tim Burton's fabulous fable Big Fish, the heroic Master and Commander and classics such as Raiders of the Lost Ark and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
Seattle Center's Outdoor Cinema will take place on the gently sloped lawn of the Mural Amphitheatre, with the Space Needle standing sentry in the starry skies above you! Moviegoers will find a state-of-the-art giant (45' x 28') inflatable screen on the Mural stage, Chinese lanterns in the trees, plus delicious movie snacks and treats available for purchase.
Experience a favorite movie in a whole new way! Picnic on the gently sloping Mural Amphitheatre lawn, enjoy a beautiful summer sunset and settle down on your blanket with friends, family and neighbors for an outdoor cinema experience like no other.
All films are rated PG-13 with the exception of Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, which is rated G. Cartoons, both classic and contemporary will be shown prior to all films except the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, given their length. Movies begin at dusk.

How do I get seats at the Mural?
Seating is first-come, first-served, limited to the capacity of Mural Amphitheatre.
What are the seating arrangements?
We recommend low back chairs, blankets or bean bags. Seating is first come, first served, but you may be directed toward the back of the Mural Amphitheatre lawn if you bring high backed chairs. Our front half of the venue is reserved for low back or no back seating.
What if the weather is bad outside?
Movies will be shown rain or shine.
When will the movies start?
Movies start at dusk. Scheduled sunset times for August change as the month progresses. Sunset is scheduled for 8:36 p.m. on August 6, and 8:10 p.m. on August 21st.
Can I bring my pet?
Due to the limited number of seats and the abundance of food in the seating area, we respectfully ask moviegoers to leave pets at home (except for legal guidance animals).
Can I bring beer or alcoholic drinks?
Seattle Center's Ground Rules apply, NO alcohol is permitted.
What other items should I keep at home?
NO large bags, large coolers/ice chests, umbrellas, video or audio recorders.
Do you have food & beverages?
We have traditional movie concessions and you can buy food and beverages inside Center House.
What is the cellphone policy?
Like any theater, during the performance we ask people to TURN OFF their cellphones and pagers.
