Hello,

As you know, the citizens of Washington will be voting on marriage equality in the November 3rd election. We are an experienced research team headed by Professor Kristin Beals from California State University Fullerton psychology department. We are conducting a research study to examine the impact of legislation related to marriage rights (Ref 71), on the well-being of LBGT community members. Our lab previously conducted a study around Prop
8 in California. Our intent is to further our understanding of the effects that similar legislation may have on our community.

We are emailing to ask if you would be willing to help us recruit LGBT participants. Participants will be asked to take an on-line survey administered at three separate time points; before the election, shortly following the vote, and 3 months later.  Our survey is available on http://washington.psychfarm.org.

Your help with any of the following would be greatly appreciated.

·         Send out the attached announcement over a listserv or post on a community webpage

·         Post the attached flyer on bulletin board(s)*

·         Distribute the attached flyer*

·         Make a short announcement at a organization/community meeting

·         Please tell your friends and loved ones about our study
