[Imap-uw] Support for domains, or other options?

Does UW support IMAP domains?  Can I group users within domains?
 
If so, how is the username managed in the Unix system?  Is it still
unique across the system?
 
If not, is there a way to achieve something similar, perhaps by using
the DNS system, multi-homing, something like NIS, etc?
 
Any advice appreciated.
