[Imap-uw] IMAP toolkit crash: rfc822.c legacy routine buffer, overflow

I am using the uw imap c-client-library with php-5.2.4 and apache 2.0.61
(both compiled by myself) for my webmailer software TWIG.

While showing my mails in INBOX, TWIG causes the apache child to crash.
In the syslog I found the following message:

httpd: IMAP toolkit crash: rfc822.c legacy routine buffer overflow

Could you please tell me if there will be a bug fix for this
error.

In the php bug report list I found an similar problem with
php-4.4.6:
