Linux Routing

I've got stuff set up so that I can connect my old 486 laptop to a bigger
machine using PLIP.  The big machine is connected to the internet and now
I'd like to set it up to route packets from my laptop out to the internet
and vice versa.  I'm figuring that I will not be able to use DHCP from the
laptop, but it'd be nice.  Does anyone know how I could set up the big
computer to route that way without using masquerading?
