Gimp?

That could be most excellent, if there is any other intrest (than mine) in
the idea.  I was tooling around with it last night, and while I can use
some of the script things to make a logo or two, I couldn't figure for
the life of me how to do something simple, like add a shape to the
background of the text.  Anyone else?
