I have a linux box working with SMB and want to be able to back-up, and
in the event of a crash, restore the linux box using backup-exec 7.3 for
NT4. I have made a back-up user called "backup" and a smb share called
[backup] pointing to the "/" dir giving readonly access to the backup
user and root.
I can loginto the share with root but not with the backup user, if I use
that root user will that comprmise security? I think I need to set the
permissions of the directoies somehow so that the whole root system can
be read by the backup user, I'm not sure if I need to and I dont know
completly how to set up my owners, groups, permissions to make this
also is there a way that if my server does crash to restore the data I
saved on the tape?
