btw, people who publicly insult linux on linux mailing lists get lousier
tech support for silly questions they should look at man pages for... =-)
Perhaps linux people _LIKE_ their OS less "intuitive" (a euphemism for
"oblique, buggy, and untweakable"). There are reasons for most things
like this in linux, and there are packages you can install, if you are so
inclined, to get more "windows-like" behaviour... But I like being able
to explicitly fiddle with some of the intermediate steps in mounting media
that M$ products don't let you do. Autorun is evil. Automounting is
debatable, depending on your needs.
