Another stupid question

I know you're all getting tired of me, but this is the last question of
mine for a long while.  Promise!

The aliases for my .bashrc file for my root account work like they
should.  However, the aliases for my non-root account simply don't work
even though I setup the same aliases.  Is there another step I am
missing.  I am pretty sure the account is running in bash shell (I love
that word BASH) and I have worked with aliases before, so what could be
going wrong?  Maybe I just need to kick the box a few times, or just
re-format the whole darn thing.  :)
