Just a guess here, but assuming it's *not* a Plug 'N Play modem that
you're using then you should verify that the jumpers on the card indicate
the same IRQ and i/o port that isapnp has detected. isapnp will not set
those on the card, if that's what you're asking.
By the way, apparently kernel 2.2.4 is going to have much better ISA
tools...at least, that's what this month's Linux Journal says.
