Is this a linux group still?
The linux way to do it..
2)install 2nd nick with private subnet (192.168.0.x or 10.1.1.x/24)
3)configure ipchains to do your firewall and ipmasq
4)use a hub, or a cross-over cable to connect your laptop.
Total price=$9.00 for nic, $5.00 for crossover cable, or $30 for hub. cost
of setting up linux to do it all=priceless.
> Two Ways to Do it..
> 1) Get a Dsl/Cable Gatweway Router they are about 150 Bucks.. and a 10 base
> T Hub or 100
> 2)Use 2 nic cards in the Desktop Machine.. One is used on the DSL Modem the

> I went with option 1 because I also have Firewall protection.. Aswell as
> easier to add more machines
