lockscreen password failure

Check and make sure that the caps lock is not on. It should not be an
issue but make sure that their password is not greater than 8 chars, or
other oddities. I suggest checking kde.org for any known issues.
PS. you can switch to a VT by hitting ctl-alt-F1 even when the screen is
locked (atleast you can when using xscreensaver) and login as root to
shutdown properly.
